Nothing can be seen of the tower of 'Brigmere' which is depicted on a map of 1590 near to the confluence of the Kinnel Water with the River Annan. It may have stood in the vicinity of Bridgemuir steading (NY08SE 70). Information from RCAHMS (IF), 4 January 1996. (J and R Hyslop 1912; J M Corrie 1916).
